A Case Against Underage DrinkingBy: Bobby (52)

Description: Although the conception that consumption of alcohol before and during college years is something everyone does, the coinciding thought that the habit is a safe one is incredibly incorrect. The culture of underage drinking is one which will never truly go away, despite billions of dollars spent on prevention, education, and enforcement, and is a custom which haunts every high school and college in America. The costs of underage drinking include immediate health risks to the drinkers themselves, staggering financial and long-terms health costs to the aforementioned persons under the age of twenty-one, and the costs which society must bear due to juvenile consumers of alcohol. Due to these three consequences, the case against underage drinking is not just a strong one—it’s a set of reasoning which every person under the age of twenty-one should know prior to consumer his or her first alcoholic beverage.
